So if you have learned anything about me in this short time that we have gotten to know each other, you will know just how much I love a good cheeseburger! Load it up with onions, grilled, fried, or raw –I love them all! You got a special sauce? Im sold -hook, line, and sinker! I’ve been cyberstalking New State Burgers and Spirits for a while on Instagram, drooling over their burgers until we finally made it in to try them out for ourselves. New State is located in the Plaza District, right across from The Mule, on NW 16th street in OKC. Oh man did we enjoy it! New State Burgers…

Chicken and Broccoli Mac n’ Cheese
I decided to try something new. I am not big on veggies and so I have been trying to sneak them in wherever I can for myself. It doesnt really work the same though, does it?! Haha Well I stumbled across this recipe from Beachbody and decided to tweak it to the ingredients I had on hand and give it a go. The main difference in the recipe was that I didnt have any almond milk, so I used organic whole milk instead. Outcome? I actually didnt hate it. I actually quite enjoyed it. Cheese makes everything better though, doesnt it?! To get started, cook your macaroni of choice according…

The Jones Assembly
Date Night in OKC…..sometimes it is hard to know where to go or what to do when you get to go out for a date night with the significant other. We tend to do alot of movies and dinner, but this time we wanted something different. We decided to go check out The Jones Assembly on the Historic Film Row downtown OKC. Ya’ll we spent 4 HOURS there! We took our time and went to all the different areas and just slowly enjoyed our evening. We got there at 4pm, and since the dining room wasnt open until 5pm we went and set out on downstairs patio. From 4-5 we sat out…

Super Simple Taco Soup
Its that time yall! SOUP WEATHER!  This taco soup is so simple. So simple that Bug can do it without any assitance.  We tried this recipe and loved it and have been using it as a base for years now.  To begin, you just need to brown you meat in a little bit of olive oil. I love using garlic infused olive oil in my dishes to get that extra oomph of flavor to the meat. Here you could add in onions and fresh garlic if you have it on hand. We didnt this time, so we skipped it. After your meat is browned, you may need to drain any grease. I dont…

Quick & Simple Cashew Chicken
I dont know about you and yours, but in our house we love us some Chinese food. I stumbled across this recipe for Spicy Cashew Chicken on MommaChelle and tweaked it to fit my lazyness and our tastes. It is now a regular in our rotation of go-to dinner ideas. We tend to cook a lot of rice all at once, so we can easily pull it for the next meal to help save time. So this meal is easily on the table in 15 minutes. This recipe was already a great recipe, but I found that I could cut out some of the ingredients and steps and make it that…

Lemonade House Grille
Are you obsessed with burgers and fries like I am? I absolutely love a good burger any day of the week. I would pay alot of money for an In-N-Out burger, but alas, being in OKC we dont have one close by. So…I have been on the lookout for a local burger place that makes me just as happy. That’s where the Lemonade House Grille comes in. This little hamburger joint has some quality burgers and unique, amazing flat fries. They specialize in freshly squeezed lemonades with many flavor combinations to choose from or make your own. The Lemonade House Grille is located at 1444 N. Kelley, in Edmond. They…

Delving into great conversations over a warm cup of tea. {priceless} I took my mother and my daughter to our local tea room for a lovely lunch the other day. Crispy Tater Wedges In The Oven
Need an awesome side dish? Maybe you just want a tasty salty midnight snack!? These crispy tater wedges will hit the spot. I love to make these for my family for a side dish with dinner, but I especially love these for a late night snack. Pre-heat that oven to 450F. Peel and wedge-cut the potatoes. Toss in bowl with olive oil, salt and pepper. You can really amp them up with garlic and parmesean cheese or even with dry ranch mix. Place on a cookie sheet {I recommend putting down foil first to help with a fast clean-up} on their sides. Bake for 20-22 minutes. I dont tend to…
