Coleslaw Made Right
I like coleslaw but I am pretty picky about what kinds I like. My favorite kind of coleslaw is like what KFC has. Its sweet and crunchy, but not overly vinegary. This is coleslaw made right!
I found this recipe on AllRecipes.com that I adapted to achieve the kind of slaw that I wanted. I dont ever have buttermilk on hand nor do I want to buy it just for one recipe. And you can achieve the same thing by mixing milk with lemon juice.
- 16 oz package of Coleslaw mix
- 1/3 C white sugar
- 1/4 C Milk
- 2/3 C Mayonaise
- 1 1/2 Tbsp White Vinegar
- 2 1/2 Tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/8 tsp Black Pepper
Whisk the sugar, milk, Mayo, vinegar, lemon juice, salt, and pepper together. Then combine with coleslaw mix and refrigerate for at least two hours.
Thats it! You now have coleslaw made right!! Enjoy!
You guys, if you dont already have one you really should look into getting one of these small measuring cups. They are super handy when you are working with liquids and Tbsp or tsp. This makes it easy to do the 2 1/2 tsp or 1 1/2 Tbsp that recipes call for.
