My First Bloggers Conference

{Me, Mel, Shel, Katie, Courtney, & Mae}

I went to my first bloggers conference and it was a complete success! {Launch Bloggers 2020}

What did I get out of my very first bloggers conference?

Sooooo much!

It wasn’t just all the amazing information that I learned; but above all the sense of community and friendships that were made.

The conference started off strong with coffee provided by Eote inside the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.

If you have a love of all things western, then I highly recommend you make a trip out to explore this gorgeous museum. For instance, from the art, textiles, and the adorable western city, to the kids development area there is something for everyone!

OKC Sunset Skyline

Visit OKC kicked things off with some amazing information about our evergrowing city and all it has to offer.

Did you know that in OKC alone, we have 187 hotels?! Thats over 18,000 rooms!!

Travel & Leisure named OKC in the top 50 destinations in 2020. This is huge for OKC and promises alot of growth for our community.

What do I suggest you check out? I highly suggest that if you havent already, that you go and check out the Wheeler Wheel.

Fun Fact: This ferris wheel once served on the Santa Monica Pier and was in numerous photos and movies, two being Titanic and Forrest Gump!

Session 1:

Our first speaker for the conference was Nicky with Little Family Adventures. Nicky is an ‘active mom of 3 who wants to help you leave “No Child Left Inside”! Her family is always on adventures and traveling to new destinations.’

Nicky was helping us learn to ditch our DSLR cameras and be able to take amazing photos with just our phone cameras!

Thankfully there are so many amazing editing apps out there to really help you reach maximum potential with each photo. So my advice is to just try a couple out and see what works best for you! I love using Lightroom to edit my photos.

My favorite takeaway from this session was -TAKE YOUR SELFIE LIGHT EVERYWHERE. You dont have to use it just for selfies!

Session 2:

Head Country BBQ was one of our amazing sponsors!

Our second speaker was Laura with Almost Empty Nest. What started her blogging career was when her oldest son went to college and she realized that she soon would have an empty nest. In other words, she brings conversations to the table about guiding children to adulthood and most importantly, rediscovering yourself and your role after the informative mom years.

Laura spoke to us about the importance of email lists and how to get them started and what benefit they would play in our blogging; and more importantly the Why. Why do we do what we do!?! This session spoke to me so much as I really didn’t have a clue about some of the things that I should have been doing. So, a big Thank You to Laura!!

Lunch Break:

Pizza from Bricktown Brewery inside Remington Park

Lunch was provided by Bricktown Brewery in Remington Park. They served up the most delicious pizzas! From cheese, veggies, to meat lovers and even had gluten free pizzas available. They treated us to a fun beer demonstration complete with how they make different brews and their process in bringing new ones to the table. In addition, we even got the special treat of tasting 4 of their most popular brews! We even learned that Bricktown Brewery was the first brewery in the state of Oklahoma! Thats pretty impressive!

Have you been to the races at Remington Park? I havent been in ages but I plan on making a visit this spring! Did you know that families can sit outside and watch the races together? {All Ages}

The Quarter Horse racing starts up March 6, and goes to the end of May. At the end of April, they have extreme animal races, and at the end of August the thorough-bred races start.

After our scrumptions lunch, we headed back to the National Cowboy Museum for our 3rd session.

Session 3:

Daily Steps to Success with Mae

This session was Daily Steps to Success by Mae Badiyan. This doll delivered some amazing advice on how to BELIEVE, START, & RESET daily to be the best version of yourself. Make a plan, act on it, and then review your efforts. So whats the biggest thing you can do? Give praise where praise is due and celebrate your daily victories!

Session 4:

Chatting with Meg from Tailwind

If you are a seasoned blogger, then you have heard of Tailwind. I highly recommend that you take any opportunity to visit with them that you can and soak up all they have to say. Again, another session that taught me that I was really lacking on some vital opportunities to really grow my blog. Want to try this scheduling software out for free? Just click this link, Tailwind, and sign up for a free month trial!

In conclusion, this conference was everything I needed! I learned so much. I made great contacts and forged amazing friendships.

A huge Thank You to Cassie with Launch Bloggers for all her hardwork in getting this set up and inviting us all to be apart of it.

Sponsors:

All of this wouldn’t have been possible without all of our great sponsors!

One of our sponsors was Head Country BBQ. {A blind taste test was given and a champion was named for our conference. The winner was Originial!}
