Updating A Kid Room To A Teen Room.
So we have been busy updating a kid room to a teen room, as our only baby turns 13 this year. Its just amazing how fast time goes by. It doesnt seem that long ago that she was just in a crib needing us for everything and now…she barely needs us anymore!
Anyways, the project. So we started with mint green walls and carpet. You can see what things used to look like here. We started off by ripping up the old carpet. I then patched any nail holes and painted her room a crisp white. We also painted the trim black giving a gorgeous contrast and staging the room for a sophisticated farm chic look. She was in need of a new ceiling fan so we found this one, that came with a remote!
When we madeover my cloffice, we did everything ourselves. It was exhuasting and time consuming! We just dont have the time or energy in us. So this time around, we hired someone to help us out. Are you needing a handyman? Very skilled at many things, including electrical work. You can reach Ryan McCullar at 405-423-5973.
We had Ryan install the flooring and the trim for us. He did such great work and got it finished alot faster than we would have been able to.
After the paint, the flooring, and the trim..it was time to decorate. To see before we decorated check here. We moved in her bed and dresser, and as she is 13 and starting to wear makeup, it was time for a vanity. So I found and ordered this one for her. I love the light up mirror and the multiple drawers. She was obsessed with the look of it too. Im gonna be honest, putting this together took a lot more time than I anticipated. The instructions were not the clearest and took some thought as to what they were needing done. But I did it all by myself!
Now her room is all complete and we have one happy kiddo. To see the finished results…check here!
