Winter Bronzing In A Bottle
Lets talk tanning lotions!Â
I, like most of you lovely ladies, love a good tan. Especially during the winter when I tend to look like a ghost. So Im on a mission to test out some tanning products and give you a heads up on what the best ones might be. This will be a two part series, where I do some lotions now, and then review a couple others in a later post. Â
But for now here is the basics:
When applying tanning lotion of any kind, I highly recommend using this mitt and this sling mitt for your back. Always start with a clean exfolliated base for best results! Using a mitt or a good scrub is a great way to exfoliate!  My preferred is the mitt because it doesnt leave any oils behind, but sometimes I just love a good sugar scrub.
Always apply the product to the mitt and work in circular movements upwards on your body. Start on the legs and then work in the remaining product on your feet and ankles. Be sure to get in between your toes and on your heel!. Work up your body and be sure to get under your arms! Skip your hands for now! Work up to your neck with the mitt. Then using your favorite facial moisturizer, mix one pump of moisturizer and half a pump to one full pump of lotion and mix together and apply evenly to face and ears and work down to throat to get an even coverage. Add a bit more lotion and a small pump of tanning lotion and work into your hands and wrist to evenly combine. Let your product dry according to their directions, but I always let sit for at minimum 8 hours before showering. To keep your tan looking glam, apply every 3-5 days! Â

Fake Bake is a spray liquid based tanning lotion. Spray the liquid on to your mitt and apply quickly in circular movments upwards. This went on very smooth and I didnt notice any streaking or heavier tanned creases/joints. The smell was pleasant and wasnt overbearing for me either. Lasted about a week, with gradual lightening. Not as dark of a tan as I want to achieve with one application. Though they do have a darker version that might be worth trying next time!

Desert Bronze is a foam based tanning lotion. Pump on to mitt and apply in circular motions upwards. This lotion was amazing! Just one application and I had some beautiful dark bronzing! I was almost too dark with the initial application, but after the rinse I was extremely happy with the results. This one is my favorite so far out of past experiences and between these two. The results lasted about a week without splotchy fading. It had the best lasting color! The downside to this lotion is the price and the time it takes to get it.
